Sound Healing is the Same as Music
While music may move emotions, sound healing works on a deeper, more intentional level. It involves the purposeful use of sound frequencies to clear energetic and physical blockages—sometimes reaching all the way to the cellular level. Sound healing is based on the principle of entrainment, where the strongest vibration in a space begins to synchronize everything around it. In this way, the body and energy field naturally begin to tune themselves back into harmony.
In ancient Egyptian times, sound was revered as a sacred and potent tool for both spiritual awakening and physical healing. The Egyptians believed that sound was a fundamental force—integral to the creation and maintenance of the universe. Musical instruments, sacred chants, and spoken words all played pivotal roles in religious ceremonies, healing rituals, and even in the design and architecture of their sacred spaces.
Today, modern science is beginning to confirm what the ancients intuitively knew. New studies show that sound has the extraordinary ability to re-pattern cellular structures, inhibit the formation of fat cells, accelerate wound healing, reduce inflammation, and much more. Sound is not just something we hear—it is a profound force that resonates through every aspect of our being, offering pathways to balance, restoration, and transformation.
Sound Healing and their influence on the brainwaves
Brainwaves are the rhythmic electrical pulses created by neurons communicating within the brain. These oscillations occur at various frequencies, each linked to distinct states of consciousness—ranging from deep sleep to heightened focus or meditative stillness. We can observe and measure these patterns using EEG (electroencephalography), a gentle, non-invasive technique that captures brain activity through sensors placed on the scalp.
Through the power of frequency and vibration, sound healing gently guides the brain into altered states of consciousness—most commonly alpha, theta, and delta brainwave states. These are the same states we enter during deep meditation, dreaming, and restorative sleep. Within these rhythms, the mind softens, the nervous system resets, and the body opens to healing on a physical, emotional, and energetic level.
Gamma (30 - 100 Hz): Gemma waves are the fasted moving brainwaves. This state is linked to high alertness, learning and perception.
Beta (12 - 30 Hz): Beta waves are activated when we are in awake and engaged in mental activity. These waves are related to analytical thinking, focused attention and problem solving.
Alpha (8 - 12 Hz): This passive state we experience during mindful activities, meditation and dreaming. Alpha is connected to relaxed alertness and calm.
Theta (4 - 8 Hz): Theta brainwaves a present during light sleep, daydreaming and deep meditation. This state is connected to creativity, intuition and access to the subconscious mind.
Delta (0.5 - 4 Hz): Delta waves are the slowest moving brainwaves and are most prominent during deep, dreamless sleep. This is the dominant wave of infants and linked to physical healing, restorative sleep and the release of growth hormone.

My Grotta Sonora Gongs are handcrafted in a cave of Etruscan origin in Calcata, Italy.
The visionaries behind the Grotta Sonora project, Margherita Cioffi and Madhava Carrara, began their journey as an experimental exploration — one that has since evolved into what is now known as one of the most powerful gong-making spaces in the sound healing world.I had the honor of training with the Grotta Sonora team during the Grotta Sonora Experience in 2025 — a deeply immersive journey that transformed my connection to these sacred instruments. For me, the gongs are not just tools of sound; they are portals — gateways into expanded dimensions, weaving us beyond the physical and into the timeless realm of soul, memory, and pure vibration.

My deep connection to plant medicine naturally led me to this beautiful instrument. When shaken, the Chapaka creates a rhythmic, rustling sound—reminiscent of falling rain, whispering winds, or leaves crunching gently beneath the feet. I use this sacred tool to scan an individual’s energetic field, sensing and addressing any imbalances that arise. Its soothing vibrations help realign the energy body, fostering deep relaxation and a sense of harmony. -

I mainly use it during cacao ceremonies, sharing songs that invite us to sing together—cultivating a deep sense of connection and awakening your own voice. The Shamanic ocean drum was chosen during my journey to the Sacred Valley in Pisac, Peru.
It was one of my very first sound healing instruments and has become a loyal companion in my ceremonies ever since. Versatile in its expression, it can be played with both force and softness, evoking the primal sounds of water and nature. I believe this is a truly unique piece—far from the standard, mass-produced ocean drums—imbued with its own distinct spirit and resonance. Its voice continues to weave deep presence and grounding into my soundscapes, reminding me of the sacred lands where our paths first crossed. -
